Aqua de Dora

In the summer of 2020, my family and I traveled to the island of Öland — Sweden’s second-largest island, set along the Baltic Sea and separated from the mainland by the serene Kalmar Strait. Its natural beauty left an unforgettable impression. Öland is a place where the air carries the scent of the sea, mingling with the soft aroma of sun-kissed trees. When rain touches its ancient soil, a rare and captivating fragrance rises — earthy, fresh, and deeply comforting. It is a landscape where simplicity and grandeur coexist in perfect harmony. That experience became the spark behind Aqua de Dora. I wanted to capture the purity and strength of Öland’s nature — the citrus-bright winds rolling in from the Baltic, the quiet warmth of its forests, and the serene confidence the island inspires. Over nine months, this vision took shape. I blended energizing citrus notes with the softness of fig and the warmth of chestnut, then anchored the composition with dry, elegant woods such as Cashmeran and Sandalwood. Each note was crafted to mirror the depth and clarity of the island’s atmosphere.
